Food for Alex is so much more than sitting down to eat.
It’s an opportunity to share a memory, create a connection, explore a community or culture.
It’s a gateway to telling stories, meeting strangers, making new memories or even being brought back to our past.

As a Chef you often expect them to be behind closed doors, creating with intensity and too focused to be interrupted. Well let’s just say that Alex has paved a path of her own, breaking all sorts of “rules” society has painted for us Chefs.

She has travelled around the world to re-define what sitting around a table means for her, as both a guest and a cook. Whether it’s tucked in the hills of Tuscany rolling fresh pasta, dining at Michelin restaurants or cooking in the basements of Manhattan. There’s no right or wrong way, it just whatever way feels right to you.

And for Alex, pairing each course with a story that brings you on the road with her feels right.
Sharing her journey on creating the dish feels right.
Welcoming you into the kitchen, into her family, feels right.

No matter the culinary experience you’ll walk away knowing one thing, that Alex has adored the culinary world since she could hold a spoon in her hand.

Her passion is contagious, her excitement is undeniable and above all, her experiences are unpredictable.

The Canadian land allows travelers to experience the familiar in the unfamiliar. “I hope that everyone visiting Newfoundland leaves feeling like they just left home,” said Blagdon when I reached out to her weeks after I returned to my home in New York. I had called to ask her what makes Newfoundland such a unique place, and upon hearing her answer, I was momentarily homesick.
